  1. It's true, as long as USD remains the world's reserve currency i.e. it has a worldwide put.

    If & when the US becomes the 2nd or 3rd largest economy, then you'll see a transition towards a composite reserve currency unit. That's when greater fiscal discipline will be exerted on the USD by world markets.
